Darkie Fashion Show & After Party: Music inspires Fashion
South Africa is proving itself as a fresh and aspiring voice in the fashion world and Cape Town Fashion Week is essential in creating a platform for our designers to compete both locally and globally.
Darkie will showcase its brand new spring/summer range at this year's Cape Town Fashion Week which is taking place 13-16 August. The Darkie design team is currently in the studio focusing on the new collection. Expect fresh and fast forward streetwear, innovative cuts, funky prints and a show inspired by music from the past, present and future.

Since the dawn of time music and fashion have shared the same space. Both are strong memory indicators. When you think back to key moments in your life, what you were listening to sticks with you just as strongly as what you were wearing.

REVIEW: Global Breakthrough Festival 2008: Mind Blowing!

I was thrown wide-eyed lunatic into the musical maelstrom of Global Breakthrough 2008. I don’t think I was prepared enough. I expected aural assault of the highest global caliber and I got it. Within hours of touching down in the visually overwhelming Cape Town, I was immersed in what can only be described as an auditory kaleidoscope of such epic proportions that I literally had to step back and pinch myself.
When engaging in the Global Breakthrough brand, one needs to understand that it’s not some flippant encounter with an acquaintance. It’s like a bear hug from a long lost sibling. You must breathe the experience. From dusk to dawn and back to dusk again, it is a roller coaster of thrills.
